A Tale of Two Sisters (장화, 홍련 Janghwa, Hongryeon literally 'Rose Flower, Red Lotus') was adapted from from the Joseon Dynasty folktale Janghwa Hongryeon-jon.

Recently released form a mental institution, two sisters return home to live with their stepmother and father. It soon becomes clear that their stepmother is cruel and unbalanced and their father is of little help. Shortly after their return home the girls start experiencing strange occurences in the house but are they really being haunted by a ghost?

Acacia is a story about a couple who decide to adopt a child after failed attempts at having their own. The couple adopts a young boy who loves to draw trees and becomes attached to a large acacia tree in their yard. Things change when the couple unexpectedly gets pregnant and reject the young boy. On a rainy night he vanishes and the family slowly spirals out of control until we learn the truth.

Cello(Chello hongmijoo ilga salinsagan) is a 2005 Korean film from writer/director Woo-cheol Lee. The story follows Mi-ju's whos career as a musician and teacher are put in jeapordy when a former student threatens revenge for receiving a bad grade.

Cinderella Directed by Bong Man-dae and starring Do Ji-won and model Shin Se-kyung, the film follows a mother and daughter who's high school friends have undergone plastic surgery and are now being mysteriously killed and having their faces cut off.

Death Bell The only Korean Horror film to be released over the summer of 2008, Death Bell is the first Feature film by former music video director Chang (real name Yoon Hong-seung), who also co-wrote the screenplay. Death Bell stars Lee Beom-soo in his first horror film role, and the K-pop singer Nam Gyu-ri in her acting debut. Set in a High school, the film's native title refers to gosa, the important midterm exams that all students are required to sit.

Oldboy (올드보이) is a spectacular tale of revenge from Korea. The 2003 Korean film was directed by Park Chan-wook and has won 17 awards as well as 10 nominations. The movie Oldboy is loosely based on the Japanese manga Old Boy which was originally written by Nobuaki Minegishi and Garon Tsuchiya. Oldboy follows the story of the seemingly average Oh Dae-Su, who is kidnapped and locked in a hotel room for 15 years without so much as a word to why he has been imprisoned.

Phone (폰, Pon) directed by Ahn Byeong-ki and starring Ha Ji-Won and Kim Yu-Mi. Phone is a complex and disturbing love story that involves possession and ghosts. Journalist Ji-won receives threatening calls on her phone and changes her number. Jii-won continues to receive and after investigating her phone number, Ji-won discovers that the original owner of the number went mising and the two next owners of the number have mysteriously died under unusual circumstances.

R-Point (알 포인트) written and directed by Su-chang Kong and starring Gam Wu-seong and Son Byung-ho. R-Point is set in 1972 Vietnam, during the Vietnam War. On 07 January 1972, the South Korean base in Nah-Trang, Vietnam, receives a radio transmission from a missing platoon stationed at R-point presumed dead.

Park Chan-wook the man who directed Oldboy is shooting his new Korean horror movie using only an iPhone.

The new film is clled Paranmanjang, which in English means “life full of ups and downs”. The film is about half an hour long, and was made on a budget of only 150 million won ($133,000). The director of this Korean Horror Movie says the iPhone’s small size and light weight, as well as the fact that “anyone can use it,” made it a good tool. His brother, Park Chan-kyong — also a director who collaborated on the film — says a wide variety of camera angles and edits were possible because a number of cameras could be used.

The Host (괴물) bills itself as a monster movie, when in fact it’s so much more, with terrific elements of black comedy and a political undertone that is evident throughout, director Bong Joon-ho has put together a superb film.
